since your money is in paper form have any of you lost a substantial amount by putting jeans in the wash etc? when aus changed from paper to colourful plastic i was too young to have any real money so i never lost any large amount of dosh. although we did collect a jar of 1c peices, then they were canned. we lost total of 5 dollars....it was a sad day for me.

Plastic money? How do you fold it?

Nifty! And the Americans think CANADIAN money looks like "monopoly" or "play" money. Now THAT stuff is colourful! (I mean "colorful". Must remember to use "Microsoft English" so everyone can understand me).

What always amuses me is that you still have a picture of 'erself on the money ... but

1) it's 'erself from a zillion years ago
2) it's the lowest denomination note ...

I guess the pictures commemorate people who had an effect on Austraila's history perhaps ???

I like the really solid colours. It makes the money more .. tangibe .. somehow.

The day I arrived in Indonesia I became a millionaire. I went to an ATM and withdrew US$300, and the machine spat out 30 x 100,000 notes, so I had 3 million in my pocket

Yeah .. it was a bit like that in nigera, onlt there it was volume rather than numbers. I used to get around 300,000 naira a month in local spendables, and you couldn't trust banks, so we used to cash our salaries immediately. Several times the bank had no 50s and no 20s, so we had to get out salaries in 5's ... Funny driving round with a car boot stuffed full of money ...

Don't worry. I know the southern dress code. Been here for almost 18 years (my whole life) and although I love the southern hospitality, down home meals, and sweet tea, I gotta get the hell out of here soon! :p

Of my 22 years of touring at least two weeks of every year were spent in Vegas, Tahoe or Reno or a combination of all. I’m not a gambler, I’m a player… not that kind, but a guy that likes to play the games. My goal was not to see how much money I won or lost, but how long I could play on the allotted money I chose to entertain myself with.

My usual daily amount was two bucks, that’s two measly little dollars…. A day! Some days that bought two minutes at the nickel poker machines, some days I played for hours and hours. It was always funny to load up on the bus after a couple of weeks playing the gig and all the other band guys were in hoc up to their ass to the artist, some boys were broke for weeks.

I would gamble my winnings but stop at my two dollar of my money limit. I once came out of Reno with 125.00 to the good and that was after I was up almost five hundred dollars and all from two dollars a day. :D

Now that's what I call money!

I hate how the amreican bills all look the same, and I end up thinking I've got a couple of hundred when all I have is $17.
