I found out today that the Singer/Guitarist(also one of my best friends) from my main project auditioned with Plus 44(Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker's New Band)yesterday and from what I hear it went pretty well. I'll be happy for my friend if he gets the gig but of course it will be the end of our band at least for while:(

Bummer Randy, but you gotta pleased for your pal.

Hope it a) comes off for your singer and b) you get someone to fill his shoes ASAP.

Man it's tough to be happy for someone when it affects you in a negative way but it just works that way sometimes. On a smaller scale, sort of the same thing happened to my band when I left. They haven't had a gig since last August. The flip side is that your old friend is a great connection.

Good luck in your search for a new singer. Maybe one of the guys that didn't get the gig with Plus 44 would be interested. Just because they didn't get that gig doesn't necessarily mean they aren't good.

On the other hand .. matbe he'll convince Plus 44 that you're a better bassist than their current one :)

Well thanks for all the positive comments guys:) As far as replacing Frank, that's not really an option as it's pretty much his thing.Read the bio here http://www.purevolume.com/venomouspinks and you'll understand.I just show up and play and I pretty much prefer it that way these days. We'll just have to wait it out if he gets the gig. It's ok though,I have two other things going right now to keep me busy:)
Radiotrib-I know Mark takes a lot of heat but Frank said that he was alot better than he thought he would be and that his new songs were great. He's jamming with them again next Monday.Mabye i'll tag along and see if I can get Mark to put down the Fender and try my Ray;)
Figgy- I've actually known Travis since 1987 and if I asked him for the pic of his wife he probably would laugh and then hand it over....if you really want it.Wait until you see Carol though, she's going to be singing in Plus 44.You probably will want a pic of her too;) Here is a really blurry one of her(Carol) with me playing in the back............

I knew those names were familiar, but couldn't place them. Looked 'em up and found out who you were talking about. Bit too poppy for me, but I like the Dag Nasty props on his chest. As for the stingray, when I was trying to find out who each member was, the first pic I saw of the bass player he was playing a Ray, so it's not like he doesn't know how good they are!!! ;)
