ot: cleaning up

I have had this f*nd*r Jazz 1975 for close to 20 years, and I always hated the damn thing.
Saturday I put an ad up, and today I sold it! The good man buying it was a f*nd*r-loving geetar player who wanted something for recording.
He got a good deal, I got rid of the horrible bass and my brother got half the cash.
The only not-good thing is I have to buy strings and stuff for my part of the money which means no new EBMM at this time.

Just wanted to share this with you, my imaginary friends.

I sold my big bass rig when I realised I almost never used it and down-sized to a rig I do use regularly.

I've also got 10+ basses to get shot of, which will be replaced with basses/gear I will play/use more often.

Use flats (which last forever), and with the money you save from buying strings all the time you can buy a new EBMM bass every couple of years.

I just downsized my overblown rig to half its size (410 and 115), and am going to upgrade from GK 700RB to a new 1001RB-II A.S.A.P.

Bass-wise, with the Toby Pro-4 in hand and two EBMM's in the oven, I think I'm set.

I regularly play six different basses, and average string life is about 3 months. Strings are about double the price here in Sweden compared to the US, so my share of the money will get me strings that last me about 9 months.

Strummer, have you thought about buying in bulk from the states? The initial cost may be a bit heavy but it may work out cheaper in the long run. BTW I pay $5 for my strings

With the shipping, vat and import duties it adds up to more or less the same amount as here in sweden. And I get discounts; I buy my Slinkys in 6-packs.

BTW I pay $5 for my strings
