I guess the guy went into DT's or something on the first day of filming and Mel realized the idea wasn't that great. Could you imagine Blazing Saddles without Gene Wilder. Even worse, could you imagine that movie without Clevon...![]()

Bad News started as a skit on the YO's, then turned into a short film (Bad News Tour). They followed up with another short film called "More Bad News", which culminated with BN playing to the Castle Donnington crowd (1988). That had cameos from Def Leppard, Ozzy, Scorpions, Lemmy, and some others (I think).Dr. Nick said:Okay, I thought I was familiar w/British comedy, but ya'll got me there...
I'm familiar with the Young Ones, but I've never heard of "Bad News"

It blows away Spinal Tap (IMO), and I love Spinal Tap!
I own the VHS of it, but can't watch it as I've progressed to DVD quite some time ago. I'd love to make a transfer over to DVD, if possible.
It's only available on VHS from Rhino.Dr. Nick said:Ah, so it was a parody band....I'll definitely keep an eye out for it. The Rutles are cool as well.
OK, off to practice...holler at ya later.
