Hi, everybody!

If anyone is in the Central Florida area, my band will be playing this Saturday (12/17/05) at Palm Bay Harley Davidson. Festivities should get underway around 10:00 a.m., and we will be on from approximtately 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Do we really have that much material? I doubt it!

:p

Just keep playing the Blues Brother's version of "Rawhide" and things'll go just fine.

I like that idea!

We only have one guitar player, so I don't think "Freebird" will be on the list....

As for drum solos, that's a solid idea, 'cuz our drummer is good. Really good!

Thanks for the suggestions. I will make sure to shamlessly plug EBMM at every opportunity!

Cool!

Blues Brothers "Sweet Home Chicago" and a Commitments-esque "Mustang Sally" always help to fill the time for my guys! :D

I wish I could be there!

Another vote for "Mustang Sally". We always invite girls from the audience to participate and sing "Ride, Sally, ride.". It's about 5 minutes from beginning to end and you get to watch the girls shake their booty right in front of you.

Oh, yeah... I'm not too worried, becuase that's the type of stuff we normally do anyway...we could do more complicated stuff, but we are, how do I put this....

Grab you a few horn players and play "I Can't Turn You Loose." We played that in our marching band show 2 years ago. That's a heck of a workout for the left hand. Or how about "Let The Sunshine In"? That's a good one too! :)

Now that sounds like fun! If only there were some hornplayers available (who don't want to get paid!)

I'd love to start up a ska band but alas, the hardcore/screamo scene is abundant here and nobody else around here is much of a ska fan. Bah! Oh well. I'll be in the woodshed if anyone needs me.

Here are some songs to pad your time slot:

1) "Thick as a Brick" -- Jethro Tull

2) "Inna Gadda Da Vida" -- Iron Butterfly

3) "Echoes" -- Pink Floyd

It took me months to get that one right. That was back when I was learning how to play bass. Whatever happened to Jeffrey Hammond Hammond? For the time, those were some unusual bass lines.

" Another Brick in the Wall" comes to mind when needing a long song. Then a Jackson Browne tune I don't recall the title but know the song when I hear it.

Jazz type wanking can get you through 2 hours even if you barely understand Jazz.

Time is Tight by Booker T & the MGs can also be a nice instrumental filler. Green Onions is another beauty. In fact anything by BT+MGs always goes over nicely.
