errrr.... so, my eye's screwed up... still :(

a few days before xmas my eye was bugging me. so i took off my contacts for the night and it was all downhill. it got all swollen and red and it hurt really bad when any light was around. I patched it up so no light could get to it etc. sucked.

anyways - i layed off contacts as long as I could and things got better o id been wearing my lenses again since the 27th or so. however, last night the eye went back to being red and pretty damn swollen. so, finally, i hit up the eye doctor. good new - no infection. bad news - i cant wear contacts for 10 days!!!! this really blows since w/o contacts im 2 steps from blind (i think my left eye is legally blind actually). glasses dont work either due to my as-bad-as-it-gets astigmatism (in both eyes).

anways... randy called a few minutes ago and asked about the eye and said jack posted about it a couple weeks ago. so i thought id give you guys an update. it sucks - but it will get better with some standard lubricating drops and contact-free relaxing.

here's a not quite gross - but not quite cute picture. I still had the yellow eye doctor crap in my eye.

notice my right eye (left one in the pic) has a swollen eye lid and is all red and sucky.

I feel your pain dude. I can't see a dang thing without my glasses / contacts and have had issues with my eyes since the third grade.

Get to feeling better and best of luck!

Happened to me too with contacts. While I was on vacation no less. Apparently the cleaning solution I was using got contaminated somehow and got some kind of bacteria or something in it. Naturally, when i cleaned my contacts, the little buggers found themselves a new home.

Do what the doctor says. Keep flushing the eye out. After all, you need two good eyes to really appreciate the cool new paint job BP is planing on unleashing for 2008.

Arin,

You're a MM bass player - we're the toughest of the bunch!!!

You're good to go - we only need 1 good eye, and we'll do the entire "gig"!!

I'm not counting you out till both eyes are swollen shut, and then maybe, just maybe we "might" cancel the gig!

By the way, Jimmy Lyons was in town wed night, and showed up at Little Foxes. Hope your eye gets back to normal real soon.:)

Is that yellow matted custard, dripping from a phatduckk's eye? ;)

Sorry to hear (and see) phatty. Hope it isn't too painful. I'll send some positive vibrations, jah mon.

Hey, how's the storm? It's blowing 30-40 here in Portland, and raining sideways. Man I do love this weather.

but it will pass. gives me a reason to not write code at work for a couple weeks which is fine by me. ill spend my time at the whiteboard and in meetings... not bad. + i can crack the whip at my guys and make them do my stuff :)

at least my glasses work well enough to watch tv. im gonna mow thru my Masters of Horror box set :)

Get well soon. Have you considered Lasic? Or just wear glasses - I gave up contacts 2 years ago after wearing them for 15. Too much irritation / drying out etc.

Eye injuries are the worst. I had damaged my cornea back in college with a piece of plastic. Once in a while, my eye will dry out when I'm sleeping and when I wake, my eyelid will actually tear my cornea and I'll be virtually blind for a few days until it heals. It hasn't happened in a while but I don't look forward to it happening again.

Get well. Take care of your eyes.

Get well soon! And watch your eyes... ;)
Pretty important if you work in a visually oriented area like software programming!
