I'm not even gonna entertain the thought of getting into an argument with you or anything, I already said that Arin could lock the thread (or Jack could). Either way its over with, but for the record I wasn't making excuses, and I don't really think that you would know what I was looking for when I posted just by reading my post. Guys there is no problem here...I just wanted to entertain the thought of giving a guy the benefit of the doubt on his day off before posting or bashing or slashing or praising.....
I know that GC cant hold anything without money so the guys at the very least was violating policy. I know gc would love to but you know how many guys say ' Dude, thats mine...hold it for me Ill be right back" go home and there is a bill from uncle sam , the girlfriend/wife freaks blah blah blah
Its ok to post experiences both positive and negative but how about if we agree to make sure there wont be any egg on our faces like when the guy says, Dude I had to put my cousins name on the guitar so I could hold it for you" NOt likely but you get my drift.

Talk to the guy who put it away for you.
He should aknowledge his mistake (if he actually made it)
He should therefore fix the problem by sourcing another guitar with the same spec and sell it to you at the initially agreed price.
(If he doesn't offer you should push this point.)
If they're as good as everyone says they are they will come up trumps for you.
You get your guitar, they get another sale.

Dizzy, the only problem with that is that it was used and they don't have any other JP6's in Mystic Dream with that config at any of their stores, I've already tried. I'm just gonna see if I can get one somewhere else, but thanks for the advice. I'll call the AM today and see what he says and thinks I should do about it.

This is Phil Rich at Guitar Center main office in CA. I'm the guitar buyer.
I'm so sorry to read about your troubles with the used JP6. When I was a brand new sales guy, about 10 years ago, another sales person sold a used item out from under me and my customer (I had it on layaway for the customer). The customer was so mad at me and I didn't know what to do because I had only been there for 2 weeks at the time. I'll never forget that horrible feeling and how upset my customer was. Selling someone else's layaway is not allowed at GC and I apologize that this policy was ignored in this case.
I'd like to try and help you get the guitar you want. We're getting set to place our orders that will arrive in November from EB. How about I order you a new JP6 just the way you want it - and give you a great deal? Send me an PM with your number or email address and we can talk about it.
