Hey everyone....just wanted to let everyone know what was going on......this is a copy of an email my wife sent out today.....for the record, I am Patrick!!!

"For those of you who haven't heard, which I don't know how that is possible, I will give a brief overview. I left for Colorado w/my parents and the boys to visit my brother and fam (we drove). I got a call from Patrick's mom early Monday morning saying that they were taking Patrick to the ER and that they would call me back with updates.

Late Sunday evening and early Monday morning Patrick past out at least 3 times...he was home alone. We aren't sure how long he was unconsious for any of those times. Patrick was able to crawl to the phone and get ahold of his brother who lives a few streets over. He and his mom took him to the ER in Bmt and then after a few tests, it was decided to send him to Houston. He was sent by ambulance.

It was determined that Patrick had MULTIPLE blood clots in both of his lungs. EVERY major Pulminary Artery in his lungs were effected and the right side of his heart was also effected. The doctors have said that he should not be alive...they believe he 'cheated death'."

I have had several doctors tell me that I should be dead. They say most people don't make it through this. I had weight loss surgery on july 20th(I've lost 30lbs in the first 2.5 weeks), but they have not been able to find where the clots originated from. I had no symptons of any. They say they may never find out.

I am still in the cardiac critical care unit, but I am doing much better and should be released in a few more days. I am expected to make a full recovery. I thank God for him protecting me and saving me!

I met most of you in Dallas last year and feel like you guys are family! Hopefully I'll make it out to the desert!!!

Patrick

Patrick, I wish you a speedy recovery and am glad your situation was caught quickly. You are correct, many times pulmonary embolisms are fatal. Glad you were able to get help quickly. Hope you are on the road to recovery soon!

Glad you're still with us Patrick...although now the McD's lunch I just sat down to isn't quite as enjoyable as I had hoped.
