They closed the 15 freeway due to fires. I could probably go across to the 5 but I don't want to get stuck in San Diego.

Guess that means I'm just gunna sit and here give the slap machine a workout (2007LE SR4HP).

Hope everyone from SoCal is OKAY!

My parents were going to drive home from Vegas today, but decided to wait a few days.... looks like that is a good decision.

Well right now there are fires burning not 10 miles from me so I figured I should exercise privileges of rank and just stay home and call in.

We flew out of Ontario yesterday and from what I hear, just in time. Did they really close that airport?

Positive vibes to all you SoCal folks. I can't imagine what you're all going through.

All the best to people in SoCal. I remember the last big fire in Chatsworth. It got really close, just about to go over the hill I bleeb. The air was nasty, the sky was glowing red, and ash was falling.

I drove down to Temecula from Redlands today, and the smoke over the mountains in Escondido was thick and black. Coming down the 215, going through Perris was very lo-vis from the winds pushing the smoke over from the San Jacinto fire. Unfortunately, I think it's going to get worse before it gets better. :(

just landed in Orange County. The fires from the air were awesome to see. As soon as the plane door opened the smell of smoke was everywhere. Strong smoke smell and ash all over down here in Newport Beach.

The 15 is still closed between San Diego and Murrieta/Temecula. The nearest divert is all the way north to the 91. Crap.

I was in San Luis Obispo yesterday and it smelled like smoke from the fire in Santa Barbara county. Drove down to SB at the end of the day and it was smoky all the way down. This morning it was still smoky there. By afternoon the fire was 100% contained. Once I headed inland back up the 101 I finally saw blue sky again. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys down south. The air must be hideous.
