After a few months of deliberations I have decided to trade my Ampeg rig for a Markbass rig. For a number of reasons........

The weight of the Ampeg is near crippling me!! I know they are notoriously heavy but it's got to the point where the other two in the band just disappear when they see a flight of stairs at a venue! The Ampeg has an unreal tone but you need a van & roadie just to get anywhere! Don't get me wrong.... Ampeg are, IMHO, the best you can buy and I will have fond memories of the tone. I just want to stay upright and on two feet for as long as possible.

You guys have sold the Markbass to me!! Especially BP with his constant recommendations! Tried one out when I was in London the other week (the sales rep handed me a F##der of the wall to try it with - I ignored him and grabbed a SR4 HS!!!!!) and it totally blew me away! You can dial in almost any tone you want with those two magic knobs (begin with 'V' I think) and SO much volume from such a little box!

So, as soon as I shift the Ampeg I'm back into London and I ain't leaving town 'til I have some yellow boxes!!

By the way.... anyone in the UK want this for £1450.00?? ('Ray NOT included of course!!)

I hear ya brother! But that is one fine look'n Ray you've got there! :D

I know what you mean about the disappearing act from fellow band mates, I use to lug a Hammond B3 and two Leslie’s around. I do like those road cases you have there, you might want to keep that 810e case and use it as an addition to your house. :D

It the ampeg looks heavy enough to sink the boat if you tried to ship it to the US. LOL

Don't forget to keep exercise up now that you have the light rig.
