I know I've seen this around but can't remember where (and the "search" button and I have been fighting for a while). I just got CHEAP tickets into LAX for the open house and want to know what the fastest way (and how long it takes) to get to SLO from there - also hear there is a much more senic route (I could use that too - for my return to the airport).
Thanks in advance!

I just popped in the address from where our hotel in Anaheim is to the MM factory and it estimated 3 1/2 hrs. ....but that's if the 101 through LA is nice......

....btw, I used MapQuest.com ......

from lax...405 north (about 20 miles)...101 west (the rest of the way).

There's a cut off in santa barbara (154) that shaves about 15-20 miles, but it's 1 lane each way and sometimes you get stuck behind slowpokes. Not sure if it's really any faster.

You can take either. both are lovely. 101 you can go 80mph :)

I used to deliver meat to the original Fatburger on 38th St. and the one on La Cienaga. Great chili too!

Ya'll are gonna have so much fun. Wish I could be there to partake but I've got other commitments eating up my vacation time.

Awhile back I managed a trip down to SB while out on job interviews. Stopped in at Fatburgers. Wonderful day that was. Had time to dip my toes in the Pacific as well. Can't ask for much more.

Can't wait to hear the stories.

IMHO Nations Burgers are better than In N Out ... maybe costs $1 more but you get a good burger ... not a good fast food burger like at In N Out. I hate In N Out b/c in college there was this awesome burger place called Murder Burger (voted #3 burger in country by someone some year) then they opened an In N Out accross the street and ruined poor Murder Burger :(
