I've got 6 Macs (used to work there :) ) - maybe I should take pics of them like Ernie does to his Pets... :)

I'm running Digital Performer 4.5.2 & GarageBand - what DAW did you decide on?

Right now...I have a pair of Macs to myself...The 14 inch G4 iBook and the 17 inch widescreen G5....both have a 512 mhz of RAM but the G5 will be loaded with more....AIrport Extreme also, plus my GF has a 12 inch iBook (we went out and spent like 5k the other night on all this crap)....They also thru in a free iPod since they didn't have my order ready on time....I love Applestore.

For now...GB2 with a M Audio FW410 and M Audio Radium 49....by the summer I shoul dhvae ProTools going tho...prolly a Digi002 rack, looking into Drumkit from Hell, iDrum, and the Natvie Xpress instruments since they sound great. Maybe even Reason 3 if I can get some sorta deal on it somewhere.

Currently using a G4 400 Ti Powerbook (one of the first) but really need to buy a new G5 iMac before the recording begins. I also have a black Performa 180  It still works though

Just love Macs :D

OC, I used to run protools as well, but I was always hitting up against the fact that you basically needed that big 002 dongle to get it to run - kinda made mixing or editing on the road a bit tough.. :)

DP runs really well, has a great mac interface, doesn't require a dongle and can run Audio Unit plugs - it's worth a look...

I love macs, I just upgraded my home studio gear recently, G5 is next on the list (after WWDC I'll probably pick one up). I've been using cubase lately, and I am starting to preferit over DP. Here's a couple picks of my DAW:
(Just ignore the jackson in the pick ;)

I've tried the tascam with my powerbook and it works pretty decent in DP, I haven't bothered to load up cubase on it to see how it performs yet.

Word?

I might just go for a Presonus Firepod and Logic 7.....that should cover it. Logic's plugs are sweet. The only cool thing about the Digi002 Factory bundle is that they give you a pretty cool suite of plugs...

On another note this G5 was giving me some fierce trouble last night, kept locking up and crashing....seems to be running mint today tho', and I added some of my hardware drivers.....GB2 works great with the FW410 I have....I should have a clip for you guys later tonite...

I've got the FirePod as well! The thing I didn't like about Logic was the UI - 7 got much better, but I still found it confusing. I picked up a PowerCore Firewire for hw accelerated plugs - it's got some great verbs in it...
