Just wanted to see if anyone else had recorded with a MarkBass amp yet.

I did a couple tracks Monday night, and I was :D .

Im playing in a band (as of Monday) with a great singer/songwriter/guitarist that I was in another band with for two years. he has a simple yet effective recording setup, and I ran through a couple of his new tunes that a label wants a demo of.

We usually run a DI out of my amp, and mic my cab. We blend the two for the best sound we can get. We were both pressed for time, so we just did a DI out of my Little Mark II. I was almost flat, with a slight high mid cut. I did all my other tweaking with the two "magic knobs" (V-Knobs).

I was more than impressed when I heard the tone I was getting. He said that was the best recorded tone Ive had to date. He very honest, and isnt afraid to let you know if something isnt working, so I trust his comment.

Anyway, the tone on tape was so round and full. It stayed clear and precise though, like Ive never heard with as much round bottom end as I had. Did one track with the SR5 and one with the SR4. Both KILLED. Well, the tone did. The playing is another story.

Just wanted to share those thoughts with you, if youre using a Mark or considering one. Its just amazingly different.

I must come to the defense of Dr. Stanky. Who would even dare to suggest dowsing Dr. Stanky's desire for a Markbass? eh?

Let us apply the proper punchline at the proper time. :p

I mean, be fair. :D

PS: I might be selling my beloved Moots Ti frame and have enough to pay for both the trip to Dallas and a little mark.

I can't wait till my LittleMark II comes, the GC says it will be at least another week...

But tonight I'm going to take my "OldMark" 450 and a Berg to the jam. I haven't decided what I'm going to play, keys, bass or wind controller, but they all sound great thru that rig.

Could someone explain why this Little Mark is all I specifically hear about on this forum as far as Markbass products. Looking at their website it looks like there are higher line products but I never hear anyone talking about them. What is the selling point on Little Mark? More affordable with near equal tone as the more expensive heads? Availability?? Certainly not the weight as the whole line is featherweights. Any input on the tube versions as well the others would be appreciated. :)

What maddog said plus I got to hear one and it sounded fantastic.

The ones that are higher priced might beat it, I don't know how they possibly could given the LIL Mark sound is butt kickin good.

imho
