So my daughter went on a 2 day field trip to visit the other Cal Poly University*. She gets to tour the campus and observe a few classes. She is really smart, so it would be great if she got a full scholarship there.

* There are two Cal Poly Universities, one in Pomona and one in San Luis Obispo. I graduated from Pomona, so I affectionately call the one in SLO the 'other' Cal Poly. ;)

SLO is way better! ahahah

Brian Graduated from SLO with a business degree

I lectured there for 6 years...had a blast. Got to sear in the class and knew they couldnt send me to the principals office

Have her go to the Firestone Grill...it is a great local hangout. I did the salad recipes there

I just ate there about a week ago. Tri tip Heaven!
Also met Kyle who was at their other location the cambria main street grill. I mentioned Sterling had taken a bunch of us there who play music mans a few years back and now its a religion when i get up there. He said Sterling is a very good friend of the family. Then we talked Lakers. We were both going to spurs game a couple days later.
Nice guy. Think he also said he just graduated SLO.
Took home a qt of their BBQ sauce.

Hope your daughter enjoys the drive out there and doesn't have her face glued to her smart phone. It's absolutely gorgeous this year after all the rain. Greens and rolling hills. Just amazing after leaving the concrete jungle.

She got home yesterday and said she had a great time. She really appreciated the green and expansive campus. Obviously the Cal Polys are great Engineering schools, so I can see her going there. It would be interesting if she becomes an Engineer..... that would make 3 generations in my family! We definitely need to keep our options open. She is in 10th grade now and already convinced she wants to go directly to graduate school after college.
