Sorta off topic, but it is what my guitars get to play through now so... :D

Here's my new amp and cab. Mesa Boogie Ace with an Avatar 2x12 cab loaded with an H30 and an H60. Sweet sweet rig, it's a 50 watt tone monster. I can't believe how good this amp sounds. Incredible cleans and big fat distorted tone that's not muddy at all.

I should have saved all the money I've spent on amps and modelers (and then sold) the past few years and just bought something like this. Actually I'm glad I waited since this new for 2006.

These are the tones I've been hearing in my head but couldn't find with everything else I've bought and played with.

After playing with it for a few days I'm not certain I needed the hotplate even for bedroom levels other than now I can really cook the tubes and still get incredible tone at bedroom levels. I can't wait to play the 20th through this thing.

If you're in the market for a new amp and have a chance you should check one out.

Fred, that looks awesome!

When you plug into a new amp to test-drive it and hear "that tone" on the first chord you play, you HAVE to buy it. I knew it immediately when I found my amp, I'm glad you found yours.

Nice set up Fred

Oh, and is it only new guitars or do new amps come with excursions to Hooter's too?? ;) :D

Hey Mike,
Imagine my surprise when I found out that only one of the 2 GC's here are a Mesa dealer, and it was the one next to Hooter's!!! But as luck would have it we were out shopping and visiting Grandma and we stopped at Cracker Barrel before heading out that way.

Maybe next time... ;)

Well it is and it isn't. We had already done the Christmas shopping at GC the week before, so I think this was just because. Just because she loves me.

Great setup Fred! That puppy looks pretty sweet.

Amen about buying the one you really like!

Beej,
You kept coming to mind while checking this thing out. I thought I remember you saying that you couldn't find a bad tone in your 'tron. That's how I felt about this amp.

Fred, that's one hell of a chord chart! Keys and guitar, WOW!

Oh, and the amp is cool, too!

Thanks for noticing Steve (you smartass...)!!! They were a gift from my wife who went through the trouble of having them framed so I'd feel really bad if I didn't hang them up...

Haha..:D I wasn't really being a smarty about those charts though! I love chord charts. I've been playing for 25 years and I still buy books of chords and such. I think it helps with the songwriting and playing sometimes.. you just pick out an odd chord that you don't use much and start playing around.

That wife of yours is a real catch, and I hope she's feeling better these days.
She can help my wife pick out Christmas/Birthday presents for me any day! ;)

Yeah, I know, I'm just busting on ya. ;) I like to pull a NorM everyone once in a while and do the whiteout thing...

I do the same thing with the charts, go for something obscure every now and then.

take care bud!
