Oh missed this - Dave if its some chaps calling himself the Guitarseller (based in Norfolk/East Anglia i think) ignore it.... he is undercutting the little dealers round here on new equipment and thats not good.
I don't know where he gets his stuff from, but my little shop got my SR5HS from the first official batch of the new twin pups to cross the pond.

I will definitely be picking up one of the "new" models once funds permit. I've recently seen another couple of twin-pickup rays (a 4 and a 5) currently on ebay selling for a pretty decent price (for the UK, considering I bought my single pup Ray second hand for similar money a few years ago now). Not sure who the seller is, but it's tough not to buy at reduced prices (even when it undercuts the smaller official distributors) when I am not particularly "well off", and the import costs have to be calculated into the selling price. I know it's all "fair" and there's no getting around any of this.

Probably why I'm in no rush and will wait until they begin to appear second hand. Sure it would be nice to special order the exact combo of my dreams, but seeing as my SR4 is black/black, it's not like my bass "dreams" are particularly extraordinary.

Yeah I know what you mean. I scrapped and saved to buy the creammachine - exactly what I had in my head, and I have not stopped smiling since.
My old purpleray is now with my brother in Manchester so I see it on stage every now and again. And my old SR5 got traded for a Bongo last week, and I have not stopped grinning and enjoying watching the band cower.....

mine is now in a rack box, the "ears" to attach it to the rack case weigh about the same as the amp !

That looks FUNNY in a rack box, but I'm sure you are the only one laughing when you actually have to carry it!

It feels less exposed in the rack box, plus it saves me plugging in the Lexicon each time, all I have to do is plug in the speakers and the footpedal and plug the whole lot into the mains.
