Jon, maybe you know the answer because I'm hearing different things.

My neck-on-a-stick has only piezo bridge pickups, no magnetic pickup at all.

I want to use tapewounds for a thumpier more upright sound.

Will the tapes interfere with the functioning of the piezos?

They won't work on our basses, but if it's like an acoustic guitar style under the bridge type of element, it will work. In other words, if there is no metal to metal contact, and your piezo only uses the vibration from the string it should be no problem. I hope that made sense.

Tapeworms are a different story

Jon is correct. If you string up your stick-bass with tapeworms, they ought to produce sufficient wiggling and consequent vibration to activate the piezos. ;)
