WOW! This is the 3rd time I've seen them live(in the last 5 years) but what a great show. Everything was perfect. Such a musical and emotional performance by a band that actually plays DYNAMICS. The atmosphere(In the Historic State Theatre in downtown Minneapolis) and lighting tricks were amazing as well. If you get a chance to check out this unique band, do it! Anyone out there familiar with Sigur Ros and their music? For those that aren't, they are a band from Reykjavik,Iceland that plays epic almost symphonic music with guitar, bass, drums, keys but with the help of a small string quartet,(Amina that opened up the show also)- The lead singer plays guitar with a bow at times(Jimmy Page never did anything that came close to this) and sings in a falsetto voice that is beautiful yet eery at times. Then if you add on top of that that he singing in Hopelandish(a mixture of nonsense and Icelandic) or straight up Icelandic it really is an unusual experience.

That band is amazing. I want to see them really bad... I have been listening to them for about 3 years now. Right now I am an exchange student in Belgium for a year and have a friend from Iceland and we talk about crazy icelandic music and stuff. I hope they play somewhere near here this year.

I listened to an album of theirs last week, which our lead guitarist lent me.

I can't say that it pulled my lever, but I did appreciate the musicianship.

Sweet!!!!!!

Want to check them out live. Saw the closest they were playing was Idaho. Seriously contemplated flying in for it. Awesome you got to see them!

Tom

edit: Just checked their website and found they are going to be in Vegas and LA. Hmmm...

those guys are indeed very cool

a nice refuge from pop and teenie bopper....

Saw them in Atlanta 2 or 3 years ago. Been following them since their album "Agaetis Byrjun". Just picked up their latest one "Takk". Their music is so emotion filled, for me it's a beautifully painful experience.

If you really like this style of music, you may like another similar group "Godspeed You Black Emperor".
