OT: Shock, Shock. Its new amp day.

So yesterday I took delivery of my newest amp. An Aguilar AG500 SC. Ive been wanting to try one of these with my Bergantino HT322, and one popped up over at TB. I made my move and here she is.

I got it yesterday planning to take pics and post them, but I could not put my basses down. The AG500 paired with the Berg HT322 is the best bass tone Ive ever heard. It is just a fantastic sound. Its really warm, perhaps the warmest solid state amp Ive heard. The mids are very open and natural. It has a very present and clean high end, that reminds me of the highs that I liked from my GK amps.

So, crack your jokes, and use your smilies. Im in love with this amp. I may get some other amps down the road, but I dont think Ill be selling this to find them. Its that good.

Also, Im digging 500 LOUD watts at around 18 pounds.

Congrats. That is a great head. We're going in opposite directions. I had an AG500(2 channel) for about a year, but after buying my Berg NV425, I traded it for a Mesa 400+ because I just had to go all tube with that cab. Now, i'm starting to miss a lightweight, solid state head to pair with my Aggie GS212 cab, so I just bought a GK 700RBII from TB. Hopefully it'll be here by Friday so I don't have to wait the whole weekend. I'll bet it sounds great through that Berg. Congrats.

Oh trust me, the AG500 has the brightest blue light i've ever seen. Not so much a 'jewel' as it is a miniature spotlight.
