I was born and raised on the Cal Central coast, from Santa Barbara to San Luis Obispo. What a boring place to live for a musician trying to play out or work. Live music clubs are far and few between, and dwindling, that's why I left.
Yeah the wether is okay, consistantly moderate; it's foggy in the morning, burns off about noon, and by 2 o'clock the onshore winds kick in, marine layer of fog rolls back in by 7pm...like that just about everyday. There is no night life.
Folks still live there, and when I visit I usually last 3-4 days then can't wait to leave again.

I still have dreams about that breakfast I had at the Apple Farm restaurant. Good Lord, those were good pancakes!

I had great pizza when I was in SLO. In fact, the best ever! It was run by young guys. University students I think. About 4-5 blocks down from Quality Suites, then throw a leftie and it was on the next corner. I was famished and had just arrived late on the Thursday night prior to Open House.

Anyone know the name of the place?

Woodstocks?

Could be...but the name doesn't ring a bell.

As you walk in the door (and on the immediate left), there's a dude throwing the pizza base up in the air.

The bar is odd. Like a little wooden counter about 3-4 ft wide. If you have to do a "nature-call" you have to walk up a ramp thingie at the back of the restaurant.

Yep that's Woodstocks! I looove their pizza too. And they're open pretty late so it makes a good late night snack after the bars. :D ;) There's a night life here..you just have to know where to go ;)

SLO has great weather if you forget about the spring and the frigid winds. It s a great town if you like hanging out with white bread subsidized college punks from LA....its great if you bought your house twenty years ago....the food is stunning.....

Go out with dargie..he passes out before the bands start.

I know of a place that is great for senior citizens.....triple digit weather is great for throbbing arthritis. It's a great place if you like cracked feet, bad drivers, and golf.
