OT: Support for 2007 Walk to Cure Diabetes

Hey guys. Yes this is off topic and if it doesn't belong, please remove. I just wanted to get the word out since this is the first year we have done this. I have a 3 year old son that has type 1 diabetes. He was diagnosed at age 15 months. He has had over 3,500 shots(4 per day) and over 5,000 finger sticks. Wow. I just figured those numbers and they even surprised me.

Well, after my near death experience last month, I am looking at life very differently now. So this year we are participating in the 2007 Walk to Cure Diabetes. It is a 5k walk/run that we will be doing on Oct 20th as a family.

Looks like two "happy" kids! Mom and dad must be doing a great job! Thanks for the information on that "walk", it's that kind of publicity that always proves so effective.

I teach Biblical Studies (that is when I'm not playing with my EBMM toys); and helping others is a major theme throughout! Actually, that's what really drew me to this forum, it was someone's generosity and compassionate interest in others (I won't mention any names, but his initials are BP) that caught my attention.
