Thanks to all for your well wishes. My stepfather went in for lung transplant early Sunday morning (real early... I had to finish my set and drive to Columbus at 2am). Anyway, after 8 hours under the knife and a few days of recovery, he was released from ICU today to a rehab room (where he will stay for 10-14 days). He is only the 2nd replant OSU has performed (his first lung was transplanted 10 years ago) and he is doing very well.

I can honestly say that all of your well wishes have helped on my numerous trips back and fourth to Columbus. I have also enjoyed briefly peeking in at the posts on the forum in my few free moments (I still need to find BP's Food Network broadcast). Now that this is doine it is back to kids in 2 weeks... I need a vacation from my vacation:rolleyes:

Thanks again to one and all!

Just got back from Columbus again (I could buy a new bass from gas I'm putting in the car driving back and forth). They have him up and walking... very impressed - 3 days removed from MAJOR surgery and he is walking quite a bit. Saw him this morning and then took my girl to the Ohio State Fair, then went back again. They even let her (my daughter) go up and see him (may not seem like a big deal but 10 years ago I couldn't go in to see him until 10 days after he left ICU) - it is truly amazing the advances they have made. BP if you are reading this, you are 100% right (as if you are ever wrong :) ) NURSES MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE - and he has an outstanding bunch.
