Left the hospital around 3am this morning nursing my left arm.

To make a long story short, I was home alone and accidently locked myself out of the house. In the process of trying to slide a window open, my arm went straight through the glass. The result was a 3" long slash 3/4" deep to the underside just up from my watchband. At first they thought I would end up with limited use of my fingers.

But, in the end I was very lucky. Another fraction of an inch and this post would have been headed "Basses For Sale" :(

Beware the hazzards with glass!!!

Glad to hear the bad news. Sorry to hear the good news.

Seriously Gav, good to hear that it wasn't a bass threatening injury. I hope the doctors stitched you up good and tight. You started working on some good stories to make the scar even more impressive? :D

Gav, glad to hear your okay. First time I got drunk, aged 15, I arrived home late at night and couldn't get the key in the lock. So I also took the simple way out, and kicked in the plate glass door. I walked through the door and went straight to bed without a scratch on me, while my parents and neighbours were freaking out.

Gav, best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery. Your guardian angel must be a fan of your bass playing (although they seem to have been a bit out of it to let this happen to you)

I'm glad you're ok, Gav. I put my hand through some glass a few years back and I'm very careful these days! I hope the healing process goes smoothly for you.

Keee-rist. I'm glad you're okay, Gav.

When I was in college, I grabbed a fallen glass as it hit the edge of a counter and sliced deeply all around the base of my thumb. You could see ligaments. I've never been so scared as the 5 seconds I waited to see if I could still move my thumb.

It sounds like yours was much worse. You=lucky man. Go play the lottery.

What, were you DRUNK?

Not that Aussies drink, I'm sure.

So, repeat after me. "I will not lock myself out of the house again."

Glad to hear you're okay.

Glad you're okay, Gav!

My wife pulled the same thing back when we first started dating...had to rush her to the emergency room with my shirt wrapped around her wrist.

Scared the p*ss out of me!

Obvious medical downsides aside, I hope this doesn't affect your playing abilities...unless it's an improvement! :D

Not intoxicated. I came home early to watch the foot ball. Got changed and heading to the beer fidge in the garage. "Mugga" was trying to get out. I shut the friggin door but it was in the lock position.

My team won!

I saw the end of it while the doc was stitching me up

(BTW. For the downunders...Sharks defeated Panthers :) )

Sharks! What's the Cronulla link Gav? I thought you'd be a Broncos boy?

I'm a Bunnies man myself (I've been with them through thick and thin)
