:D Note to all those GK fans out there... I played through GK rig with SWR cab on Saturday night (800RB?) and have decided after playing through it with my Sterling and then later hearing a dude using a Stingray through it.. that it is the best bass sound combination I have heard. So I guess that means more money for me too spend.

Also my band Barrel of Monkeys have entered the Triple J Unearthed online competition. (triple J is an australia wide youth Radio station, supporting non-mainstream music and The Unearthed comp is a nationwide comp to find the next big thing)... so if anyone wants to head to

http://www.triplejunearthed.com/Artists/View.aspx?artistid=1680

and have a listen and give us a rating ...that would be awesome (only if you genuinely like our stuff though):D

My main live rig for 4-5 years was (is) a GK 800RB and SWR 4x10 and 1x15 cabs....

You're right; good stuff :D

I decided Peavey amp and ampig cabs work good with my MM basses.

Color me no more than hillbilly.

I have a GK 1001RB-II running through a 15-year-old Hartke 410XL cabinet, and I'm lovin' the sound. I've actually been thinking of retiring the Hartke because it's become a little fragile over the years. Maybe I'll replace it with a GK cab.

Yeah the likelihood of me getting one is decreasing due to 2 planned overseas trips next year.... desperately trying to accomodate everything in my budget.... but damn I hate money.... and I am really dreading cutting into my beer fund...

Music Man basses sound so good it matters no what amp you plug them into. Don't blow the beer fund over any amp or cabs. IMHO :) Just play your MM bass and rock on.

And say something like the beer is good. :)

You are dead right...and its not that my tone isn't great now... I am just being greedy... I want the best bass (which I feel I have) playing through the best amp and go on a holiday too
