I'm back to listening to Sting's Sacred Love. I've got tickets to see him this month! :)

I used to love Pennywise. I built a bass for them not too long ago. I think it was an SR5 but I'm not sure.

Pendragon

I'm watching the Pendragon DVD "Live at Last".

I really love some of this band's music. Now, the guitarist/singer should *not* be singing, but once you get over that, he's a killer player.

He's got a great sense of melody and phrasing, and it's all his own. I can't really say he plays or sounds like anyone else. Almost every choice he makes in his melodies are choices that I would not have made instinctively. I really learn something listening to him play.

I highly recommend this band's album "The Window of Life" for your listening pleasure. You'll have to ignore the vocals or get used to his voice (as I have), but man, this guy's playing with some soul!

Also, the song "Sister Bluebird" from their "Fallen Dreams and Angels" album has one of the nicest leads on it. I like this guitarist so much on this older material. I haven't been as impressed with their more recent works, though.

Listen to some MP3's on their site: Pendragon/Toff Records

Re: topic
I just went to buy some new home speakers yesterday and brought Steely Dan's AJA with me to check out speakers.

I challenge anyone to think of 5 more timelless albums than AJA. A true classic that you can hear new things on everytime you listen to it. Always sounds fresh. Just amazing.

Keith...We are putting a band together for the 25th aniversary of the San Luis Obispo Blues Society(Lisa is on the board of directors) it's a one time gig, and all the band members will be members of the society. We will be opening for Cafe R&B, a really good band from L.A. It should be fun.

How long will you guys play? And when?

If that gig is the same weekend as the open house, that would be pretty cool for us forum peeps to check out!

All the makings of a legendary weekend.

Toto - Turn Back.

Recently I've been listening to a lot of Boston, Toto, and Journey.

I read somewhere recently that nostalgia is a mild form of depression.

wish I could remember who to give credit to for that. damn clever.

I was big into Journey!

Scott,
Therefore I will now spin Marillion's disc "Misplaced Childhood" which is for many their best album ever (released in 1985). Listen to this disc repeatedly and you will understand why Steve Rothery is so friggin' awesome.

I haven't heard that much Marillion. I never really got into "Misplaced Childhood," but I love "Brave."
