So... Many of the handles users have here on the EB forums are obvious, but others seem like they would have an intersting story.
So, what does your nickname mean, represent and how did you derive it?

Fraxture: After 10 years of taking X-Rays I kind of loved the word Fracture. But Fracture was taken eons ago when I tried to reserve it so I approximated Fraxture, has stuck ever since.

Muggsy was my first dog, a black lab mix. He got cancer a little over a year ago (we found out two days before my daughter was born, which is the dictionary definition of an emotional rollercoaster) and we had to put him down last August, just before his 10th birthday. As it turns out, my daughter loves dogs and gets incredibly excited every time she sees one, so we're getting a new dog (10 month old chocolate lab mix) tomorrow.

Used to race Karts. My name is tom.

In the old days when you dared not give your real name on the internet.

I was tk arter. :D

Took a long time to get the racing out of my blood so the screen name stuck.

Okay, it's a bass trinity - the father, son and bovinehost.

BP, Dargin, me.

No?

Okay, I've explained this before and it's not that exciting, but WTF. The Suns are currently trouncing the Spurs in the 1st quarter, so why not.

Back before the arrival of the offspring, way back before I ever went to Peru, let's say the late 80s, early 90s, I had a little 8 track studio at home. The things I was writing and recording were very different from the band(s) I was in, so I wanted a name for the "virtual band" that was really mostly just me in the studio.

One Saturday, I was trying to find Mystery Science Theater 3000 and stumbled upon a documentary about epidemics or something in Africa. This white guy was in a little classroom, very rudimentary, and was surrounded by some tribal guys. Massai, probably, now that I think about it, because they were talking about cows and so on.

And on this chalkboard, the white guy had drawn a pie chart, explaining the life cycle of the tse-tse fly.

And a big chunk of the pie chart said "bovine host".

I said, "Okay, I like that."

And here we are, years later.....told you it wasn't that interesting.

mine came from college, a bottle of wine. Cheap wine to be exact. Then they found out how weird I really am.

In college I did a lot of walking in shoes that were too narrow for my feet. I got a bad ingrown toenail that I fought for about a year and a half. I finally went and had it cut out. Upon leaving to go to school again my mother told my ex-wife, then my fiancee, to take care of "Old Toe." Namely, me.

Yuck, huh?

Got the nickname back in high school. My initials are KRB so my friends one day started making that into Kirby.

One fine August morning in 1960, Mr. Darling & Mrs. Darling had a little baby boy. :D

Well, only Mrs. Darling really. Mr. Darling was busy smoking and reading magazines left over from the Taft administration.

After Mrs. Darling had recovered somewhat she said, "Whatever shall we name him"?

To which my father replied, "How about Richard"?

My mother observed, "But, he has an uncle also called Richard"!

To which my father said, "Ah, Right you are. Let's name him Richard, and call him Ritchie as he is smaller than his uncle". :)

And there was much rejoicing! :D :D :D

At least until I arrived in school, and discovered that I would get no end of S**T for having the surname "Darling".

So, when I was 18, I changed it to "Page".

And after many years, changed it again. To "Prince". No, not after THAT Prince!

Then decided it was stupid to have even changed it once, as many people think the name "Darling" is kinda cool.

And so, I changed it back to "Richard Darling". :D

Really, I go by Rik mostly....

All true! :D

When this internet thing first became accessible to schmucks like you and me and I started messing around on Usenet and forums somewhere around 1996 it seemed like I was the only Australian online, hence the moniker I've tended to use since then.

The first band I was in, back in probably 1967, '68 was called "The Darkside". Since 2 of the members had Eastern European names that were damn near impossible to pronounce, we decided to all take Dark as stage last names. There was me, Johnny Dark, I played Rhythm Guitar at the time, (frome Johnny Cash), the singer was Bobby, the other guitar player was Ricky (after like Ricky Nelson), Drummer was Eddie (he took that from Eddie Haskell from "Leave It To Beaver". Bass player was Frankie (from Frankie Avalon).
