Shut UP, you parroting morons!

At the end of the day comes night.

Another way to get me puffed up is to use the term "proactive".

Grrrrrrrrrrr.

And yeah, Biff, "outside the box". Makes me want to gnaw furniture in half.

AH! "We need to be proactive here" drives me nuts...
"We all need to 'Step it up'." is another great one

I hate it when the word "previously" is shortened to "pre-." To me, that changes the whole meaning of the word!

For example:

pre-heated - Um, no, that would be the state the oven was in before it was heated. There's nothing wrong with saying, "Heat the oven to 250 degrees."

pre-cooked - This was before the object was cooked. Nothin' wrong with, "Honey, go to the store & buy a package of cooked hamburger patties."

pre-packaged

pre-recorded

pre-owned

Etc., etc.

AAAARRRGGH!

stuff that sucks to hear at work ...

its not just the words but the tone of voice too ...

"hey arin ..." LOL with that spcecial "we f-ed up and you gotta clean someone's mess" tone of voice

"oh and one more thing ..." this means a deadline was pushed up a week or two or something new and huge just landed on my plate

"did you check your mail?" .... i never check email and work people know this. so whenever i hear this i know im in for a bad surprise

First he lies about the origin of the "Dargie Delight", now I am not his personal handicapper.

I would imagine this is what happens when your record matches that of the Raiders??

Bull**** Bingo

Some of you have mentioned those trendy catch phrases....such as:

think out of the box
put this on your radar screen
Step it up a notch
real estate bubble
let's raise the bar (this one really puts me in a homicidal mood)
proactive (see 'raise the bar')
at the end of the day
team-building exercise (this one makes me sharpen all my knives, muttering to myself)
baby steps
bandwith

etc.

So, here's how you play Bull**** Bingo = someone has called a meeting in the conference room, so everyone else gets a 'bingo' card with all the little catch phrases on it. Whenever anyone uses a catch phrase, you mark it off on your card until you have BINGO (just like regular Bingo) and then you stand up and yell, "bull**** bingo!"

If anyone has seen Office Space (what a great movie!) another good one is, "Someone's got a case of the Mondays". If I worked with someone who said that in that tone of voice, they'd find them with cement booties in the nearest river.

Stuff I hate with a burning, flaming passion at work:

"Rick just called......" (he's the workaholic assistant director who pulls things out of his @$$ for people to do)

"We're gonna have a meeting...."

"Can you e-mail me the latest version of......."

"Can you burn me a disc of....."

And the most dreaded thing of all:

RRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNGGG......RRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNGGG..... (my phone ringing when it's my boss calling from the office next door...she tends to call 73.8 times a day for minor little things that really piss me off!)

I LOVE that movie!! The first time I saw it, I was hooked after the first 3 minutes...it already looked like it was based on my daily life. :D
