My Peavey EVH Wolfgang has the truss rod wheel in that same place. And thank heavens for that, much easier way to adjust things.

Every guitar should. I turned my Axis wheel 1/4 inch and it improvd the action nicely. So awesome!
In the last few months I have bought a couple other brands only to find out I only like my Balls!

Not sure on all the legality of it. However, in my opinion it is a "fantastic" user benefit!!

With that said, I would have assumed that that particular "mechanism", like anything else, could have been patented, and certainly would have been well worth it.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like that feature can be used by any guitar maker??

Music Man are not the only ones, possibly not even the first.

Music Man's design is (I think) unique in having the adjusting wheel protruding from the end of the neck requiring, the body to be routed to accommodate it. Everybody else who does it has in the end of the neck, routing the fingerboard for access. Blade have been doing something similar for at least 20 years (nice guitars too). Music Man's version is slightly easier to access and adjust, IMHO.

That's what I've been wondering, was MM the first to do it that way? Brilliant idea whoever came up with it. Maybe Big Poppa can shed some light.

Certainly makes life much easier for an adjustment. I have seen them for sale if you want to build you own guitar at Stewmac as well.
