I heard somewhere that "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson played a Stingray 5 backing up Mariah Carey at the latest Grammy awards a few weeks ago. True?

I'm not surprised that Randy plays bass as many TV viewers are....he's a brilliant player who's had my ear for over 15 years and has been influential in my own playing. It looked like he had formal relationship(s) with other manufacturers. I saw him play a pink polka dot 'Ray with Journey live in concert way back when. Not a stock color, you'd guess.

It's delightful that a guy who can afford or have given to him any bass he could ever want chooses to play a SR5. :)

P.s.

Randy Jackson was ON FIRE on that stage and his tone was classic SR5 ALL THE WAY BaBY!
He even sounded like he was plugged into the classic SVT as well (my personal fave)!

I have always admired his playing as well. Since he was with Journey back in the 80's.
A true bass legend!
