Wow! If mine looks anything like these examples, I am going to flip!! Per the shop the guitar should be in tomorrow. I will post some pics of one of the latest PBB example from the factory. Thanks again!

Doc

Please do Doc, I have one on order and was wondering the same thing. I actually like the ones that have the much lighter almost green center, but I'm sure that it will be a killer either way.

Here is an outdoor shot to give you an idea if how it looks under bright natural light.

As for natural or painted headstock, i am a little torn on this. I think if i was ordering one from new now, i would probably go with the natural headstock as I agree with a lot of the knuckleheads on another thread who say natural looks better with a maple board.

But then the painted headstock still looks awesome and its a little more PBB for you to enjoy!

that there ^^^ to me is a textbook example of PBB and most accurately captures the true color.

My camera just can't do it indoors, anyway. Hopefully when I get some outside pics it'll be more accurate...

In fact, I saw that pic here a long time ago and that guitar is one that I drooled over maybe the most before I got mine. It's one of the most beautiful specimens of PBB I've seen. That top and color combo is just killer.

Edit:

I'd be really torn on Natural vs. Matching headstock with PBB- If the neck was a particularly nice piece of birdseye, I think I'd prefer Natural.

I may be in the minority, but it's gotta have the matching headstock for me. Natural wouldn't be a dealbreaker, but matching might be a dealmaker. Any one I order will have matching, and if there's a choice available, matching is going to win. To me, it makes the guitar look complete.

I must say that mine's greener than any other PBB I've seen before.

^^^^ooo, that's killer! Thats one of the best I've seen. And great pics!

My guitar, (and probably as well as other PBB's) does not look the same in a photograph as it does in person. There's definitely an aqua-greenish sort of hue in the lighter areas that's missing in my pictures, anyway....

Or is yours like super green, and it shows up better in pics?

It could be my camera. (or the photographer...) What camera do you have?

I have a Canon Powershot A700, which for a point and shoot takes great pictures and all - it just can't seem to capture the correct color of my PBB Axis, and a Teal-Blue strat that I have....that color just defies the optics for some reason..

New guitar has arrived

I was able to find time last night to pick up the new guitar, and was blown away when I opened the case. I can't wait to post pictures here, but I am not sure how to do it. I am a newbee so please bear with me. If someone would please enlighten me I will post over the weekend.

Thanks very much!

2008 Pacific Blueburst/Neptune

I finally figured out how to post these pics....
I picked my new Axis up from the shop on Thursday and have not put it down since. I don't know if I would call this top a flame or a quilt, but it is very unique for one reason. My wife noticed a face under the tremelo looking back at her. She says it looks like Neptune, the God of the sea. What's funny is that in person it really does! It's kinda hard to see in the pics, but I think you can get an idea. Seems like a fitting image for a pacific blueburst guitar. Anyway, I hope you guys get a kick out of it and don't think we're nuts. Let me know what you think.

Nice! Love the top. I would say it's a quilt that really wants to be a flame....

I really had to squint and try hard, but I do see a "Neptune-like" face in this pic:

So I would say you're not completely nuts. And it is quite fitting.
