Looks like I'm deciding for you! Why Orange? Unique. Red and Gold - very many out there already. Plus, I'm biased. I LOVE Orange amps and would myself, LOVE an Orange highly flamed Axis! Might be next on my list. On second thought, why don't YOU go with the Gold or Red. Leave the Orange for me!

I have seen them in the shop but saw Sam Roberts play one and it sounded so warm.

Is it the "orange sound" that contrasts with the "brown sound".

That's a darn good question. I would say that the "Orange" sound, is a bit more prickly in it's distortion than the "Brown" sound. JMHO though.

Kind of. The school is The University of Tennesee (from the football powerhouse known as the SEC - War Eagle!!!!). The team name is the Volunteers and orange and white are their school colors.

I'm also a fan of the bursts - no pickguard and a figured top are what bursts were made for.

If you want it bright, go with Cherry Burst. Otherwise - Pacific Blue Burst

I am very partial to the burst colors on the AXIS...
I love the Trans Tobacco Burst, Honey Burst and the Cherry Burst.

If I were to go with a SOLID color for an AXIS...
i'd want to go Piano Black or Buttercreme (IS that an Option).

trans orange is a sweet color. check the bass side of the forums cuz a few people have put up trans orange pics recently and it looks awesome .. plus everything says they look better in person too

Out of those three colors, I would pick the Trans Red. I love the way red quilt tops look.

I'm definitely more of a fan of bursts, however. I have an Axis Super Sport in Pacific Blue Burst, and another on the way in Black Cherry!
