Hey guys, it's been a while. I've lurked in from time to time but haven't logged in for some time. I just put a PAF 36th anniversary into my AXIS, and WOW, it's just sounds great. Crunchy, classic rock sound, especially through my Marshall 6100 head. I really like this pickup. If anyone is interested in my original AXIS bridge pickup, let me know. I don't think it's going back in. And mod's, if this is frowned upon please excuse me. I'll remove the offer form my post.

Yeah, that's funny, I never knew he did it. I love this pickup, and another funny part is that a main part of my sound is the Blackstar HT-Dual, into a one channel homebuilt amp I have. I love my two AXIS guitars, but the pickups were just a little too dark and hot for me. I like the lower output, and the higher end shimmer that these have.

The axis/ass is a tremendous guitar and i guess most humbuckers Will suit. Stock one are fine for me but i understand your quest for your sound

That's the great things about the Axis - it compliments ANY humbucker perfectly!!! Love this guitar!!

I dropped a Norton in the bridge and gives me the sound I personally was looking for.

*I wouldn't sell the orignal Axis p/u, they are "extremely" difficult to find, and much sought after; who knows maybe one day you may want it back in the hole. :)

Most all of the dimazio pickups will directly drop right in, with the exception of the evolution. The evolution is taller, and touches the strings, so wood needs to be removed under the pickup. I don't recommend doing that.

No, most are NOT perfect/direct fits!!! However, they are all so close.

Even a so called "direct" fit pickup normally will have to be adjusted to suit your personal taste anyway. And, typically we are only talking micro distances.
