I doubt you'll get a big high-five from any of the EB staff, but it is interesting what you've done there. Certainly a usable tone. A Bongo sans steroids.

Psy,

Man, that's some great groovin' you've got going on there. I love the clip!

There's this ambient high pitched percussive sound in the left channel starting around 1:30 that kept making me think my watch alarm was going off! hahaha. It drove me nuts for a few seconds!

How many psychiatrists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Only one, but the lightbulb has to really want to change.

Sounds great man! Great tone and great chops. :)

Just one question, did you do this in GarageBand? I'm sure I've used that loop you had as your song intro before.

hey thanks guys,
DEFINITELY DONESN'T lose the EB sound at all, heck, it's still an EBMM bass with EBMM p/u's so ya it still sounds growly :D
as for the passive/aggressive model Jon... hehehehehe
and yes, this is soooo GarageBand :p I just finally figured it out and thought it would be alot quicker than having to work up something in ProTools.

Cool playing! Pete, what do you hear as the main differences between your passive version and the active version (say w/ active controls flat)?

hi Stretch,
well, the main difference really is that it's passive... the sound has more presence to it and seems a bit more open or raw for lack of better terms. there's definitely a less compressed sound that happens when running through pre-amps but that compression isn't a bad thing and the pasive non-compression isn't a btter thing, just different. also, i'm running it with 2 bridge humbuckers so it really is shaping up to be a bit of a Sadowsky/Lull killer. i'm planning on dropping an Axxxxx 2 band pre into as a local luthier did that with a pre-EBMM SR humbucker and man........ unreal.
anywho, again, these tweaks are just my own what-ever-ness and is somewhat like putting ketchup on a nice med-rare rib-eye but ...oh well, i'll definitely keep my hands off the dual Humbucker Sterling when it comes :D

Sounded smoother to me recorded. Still the EB sound. Live I think it would be out of the mix just like every passive bass I have ever played..

Note: I play live ain't good nuff to be recorded.

IMHO

....especially you BP! how cool would it be to throw in a "BPs Hott Lixx" CD into packages of Slinkys AND to accompany the silica packs in the compartments in cases??!!
