I've been absent for a while. What is this thread all about? Special 2012 run of something?

As far as the perfect MM bass, after a long quiet search, I finally scored my heart's desire -- the elusive all rosewood neck BFR Bongo in true gold. A beauty.

Very, very cool. We gotta see some pics of that beauty. Congrats!!

I put in my order for a Bongo-5 HSp with Bass Central today.

Leaning towards a Bongo 4HH.... But that depends on the below

Will it be a fretless, Matt?

My choice would be either a Reflex 5, maple board HSS, or more likely a 3 band Ray H with a rosewood board - close as possible to the 30th Anni spec and sound. But ordering one may have to wait as I'm getting a lightweight neo rig - likely Markbass LM3 + as yet indeterminate cabs - and I'm also seriously gassing for late 80s/early 90s Rays (well certainly one) of certain colours..............

Brothers (and sister Tiffles), looks like my hog bongo may have to wait. Got some bad news yesterday on the wife's health front which may dramatically change the cash flow situation. Too soon to be sure, hopefully know more next week when we get some test results. Maybe I'll be able to pick one up on the secondary market. Time will tell.

I'm sorry to hear that Gary, and I hope everything turns out well for you and your family.

Hey Bill, so it was you who snagged that beauty, congratulations! Those rosewood necks are amazing. I'll get in line behind Josh on that one :). I hope the crazy East TN weather has been kind to you this Spring.

If I can swing one of these, and I go the Bongo route, probably not.... If I go the fretless route it will likely be a Stingray HH or Reflex HSS.... Just personal preference on those.

It's awesome to see what everyone is excited about and ordering... and its really cool that some of you are going fretless! :)

I just ordered a PDN Bongo 5 HS through The Perfect Bass yesterday. None of my current Bongos are made out of mahogany so I figured this would be a good opportunity to change that situation. That is all for now.

Looking at your axe list I don't see any roasted necks either. I think you'll like the added stability the roasting process gives the neck. And the look.

I ordered a Bongo 5HH with James at TPB yesterday also and ordered a Tort guard in addition for it, I bet it will look good with a Vintage Pearl also.

Cool. 25% down!! I was just going to ask what the down payment percentage was. Is it the same for all the dealers?

For me, it all depends on cash flow in the next week or so. I would probably go with a Bongo 5H.

I'm really interested in the Reflex but I think I'm going to hold out for the gamechanger.

Non-refundable so make sure you'll be able to follow through.

All it takes is a phone call to find out. The big dealers are great for customer service and more than willing to help you any way they can.

A Gamechanger holdout sounds reasonable. ;)

Interesting. My dealer only asked for 10% down. I was expecting to have to put down more but that's all they asked for. :)

May break the bank, but the thought on passing on one of these was too much to bear.
Big Al 4 SSS on order from Pete.

To quote Tom Petty, the waiting is the hardest part.

I already have mine on order but I am going to wait until the order window closes to say what I ordered because I think it may be the only one in a certain model and configuration ordered that way. :D
