Do any of you have any experience with the Pedal Snake cable system for pedal boards ?. I like the idea of one 'multicore' cable between amp and board that carrys power, send/return, direct feed but just wondered if any of you are using one.

Cheers

Yep, I've got a PedalSnake. Good product. You can make your own, however it's solid and the interchangeable connectors mean you can reconfigure it easily without having to rebuild everything. In my mind well worth the price. Communication with the company has been excellent- they were great to deal with on a few occasions. I've beat the heck out of this thing and it's held up really well.

I've got it set up to run the signal from my board to the amp, then back from the FX send to the board, then back to the FX return. I also use a line for the channel switch on the amp. So basically one cable from board to amp.

I used to run power in there, but it was easier to put a PedalPower supply on my board.

Thats great Beej, just what I wanted to hear. Their website is down at the moment , but will look into where I can get one over here. I also want to try the Visual Sound One Spot power supply . In some venues I get annoying 60Hz hum when the dimmers in the lights are on and am told this will help eliminate it as there is no transformer, unlike the pedalboard 'brick' type power supply I currently use.

Yeah, feel free to PM me if you have any q's I can answer about it.

The OneSpot's not bad, but depends what you're using it for. If you're just using it for a few effects in line it's great and inexpensive. If you use an FX loop then you'll want a separate supply for those effects- the ground before and in the loop are different and you might end up with a ground loop.

If you have the space, the Voodoo Lab PedalPower is the best supply I've found. each output is isolated (different ground) so there is no hum induced between effects. A solid product.

I thought about getting one of these, but I was worried that the quality of the cables would not be good enough. Anyhow, I am almost done building my new pedal board using a Gator pedal tote pro. Had to get the massive one for my Line 6 board. Pretty simple with a Boss Super Overdrive and an MXR Phase 90. I will post pics when its all done!
