Why do you suppose that they decided to finish the neck? Doesn't that make it less appealing than the other models?

I think they're supposed to hit the street around $550-$650 (street, not list)... Don't quote me on that tho' - I can't remember where I got that impression

Probably less labor to shoot a satin black on the neck instead of the oil finish.

As for the feel, I've tried out a couple of Sub basses and they felt great. Didn't detract from the feel at all, but not quite as nice, of course.

Figure the $595-$695 retail to get anywhere from a 15-30% markdown, depending on how generous your dealer is and factoring in the usual supply vs. demand and taxes, and I'd think you'll probably see prices around $550-$650 range. Not a bad deal for a new EBMM...
