I recently received a special ordered(I didn't get to inspect it before buying) Petrucci 7 and I'm disappointed in the fret job done. I've played 2 6 string JPs and 1 other JP7 model(which had features I didn't want) that had frets that were not filed flat in any way. They were perfectly rounded on the tops the way fretwire is originally shaped.

The 7 I just received has had almost all the frets leveled as if they had a problem with one or two frets. I bought this guitar BECAUSE of the fretboard and fit and finish Musicman is known for. Anyone else had the frets filed flat and then polished or are they perfectly rounded like they should be?

I'm just trying to decide if I want to ship it back to be inpected/repaired or if I'm wasting my time.

Thanks

Satriani,

Great choice!!

Just a suggestion though, because you're already doing the "right" thing by contacting the customer service department, if you can just "edit" your thread to eliminate that "issue", until it's resolved.

This will save other forumites from commenting on a situation that is already being taking care of.

Great guitar!:)

TNT I'll reword it and post an update once I get some sort of contact with customer service. So far I have not. I thought here would be the best place to get a better idea if I'm being picky or if I have a valid flaw.

Rufedges, that's the exact info I'm looking for. I've seen nothing but perfect fret jobs on EBMM guitars and you've given me one vote for team"get it fixed"

It's still 0 votes for leave customer service alone;)

On the EBMM's I own, have owned in the past and the ones that I've played which I have not owned, the workmanship has been nothing short of top notch.

Give customer service a chance.....it is a weekend and you will not get a response until after. Their CS dept. is what really makes this company in my opinion.

I've dealt with CS groups of several other manufacturers including the industry giants, and EBMM is by far the best and most personable. Some other companies take weeks to respond, and only often after only badgering them.
