Hello,

Anyone have any experience with the OLP Petrucci knock-offs ?

thanks

I've heard some good things about them, but if you are gonna buy one and expect it to be like a EBMM Petrucci, don't.

I guess you can say l've heard mixed reviews, but mostly positive. Let your ear be the judge though. But be careful, these guitars have cheap hardware, so you might be replacing the bridge, tuners etc, sooner than what you think.

Hope this helps.

Scott.

I played one tonight in fact. I have a hard time being fair in judging them due to the fact that I own four EBMM JP's. I think for what they are going for, they are not bad. They would make a good "road" guitar for me. I happen to travel quite a bit and I tend to leave my JP's at home. I had an OLP Axis that got broke during a trip to Cali...(that is why I buy cheap road guitars!). The neck is low grade maple. It had an okay feel on the fretboard. The pups are garbage, but, again, it is not an actual JP. I think it would make an outstanding beginners guitar. Maybe one to toy around with to mod up and try stuff with. But not one I would bank my musical life on stage with. Did not stay in tune like my JP (to be expected), but, again.....for the price, not bad. My 2 pennies.

For the price they are good guitars. I have sold several and the cusotmers really like them.
One of my guitar teachers at the store can really make them sing, so I know it can sound good in the right hands.
