Hi, I'm looking at buying a Petrucci & trying to decide on color... have it narrowed down to Pearl Redburst & Carbon Blue, I think. I've probably tracked down every pic there is on the web of these guitars, though haven't been able to see one in person....

So my question re the pearl redburst is whether it's more of a burgandy color (like red wine, for example) or whether it's got a fair bit of bright red (i.e. like a red ferrari) as you get away from the edges & closer to the center. Most (but not all) of the pics I've seen make it look like a wine color, but I want to confirm that's accurate. I like wine color, but I hate bright red...!!

Incidentally any thoughts on redburst vs. carbon blue would be appreciated!

Mystic dream looks nice, but my other guitar is a blueish/greenish Jem BSB so I thought mystic dream might look a bit too similar... (at least, in its green mode!).

Thanks!

I just got mine yesterday

I hope this better shows the color of the guitar. I love the color. It is a dark wine red and depending on the angle you look at it it may even look black.

Here is a pic. of my JP6 in low light. As mentioned above, its definately a dark wine red burst color in the center that fades to a red/black on the edges.

I have the same color and a Rad Red....if you do not like RED....stay away from the Rad Red.....(although it is one beautiful color)

The pics above catch the color very well. Awesome color as is your other selection. Buy both.....you won't regret either one!

I have a Pearl Redburst Petrucci, and there's no 'bright' red in it at all. It's definitely the wine red and looks almost black in low light. It's a stunning finish that always draws compliments when people see it.

Carbon Blue Pearl is also friggin' beautiful. I don't own one, but I've been jonesing for one. I'd say you just have to decide if you want a reddish or blueish guitar and that's it. Either one will be just beautiful to look at.
