Petrucci Peizo Battery Drain

My 9V battery keeps draining out of my JP6 guitar. Is this because I leave the chord plugged into the guitar?

Longer answer (I was tired yesterday): if you do not unplug the jack, the electronics stay on, so does the battery (the jack plug of the guitar act like a switch).

This. Always unplug the guitar when not in use. Battery life will last longer.
