Petrucci strings...

Does anybody know what strings do Petrucci use on his regular 7 string guitars?.... oh and is there much difference in tone and feel between 9s and 10s.. I really ought to be less stuborn and actually try other gauges instead of my hybrid slinkys, 9s!

And, contgrats on ordering your Petrucci. I hope that you love it
as much as I do mine.

As far as the strings go, I checked the FAQ:

But I didn't see anything there for the SEVEN string model though.

And, in another thread you mentioned the the Black Cherry finish.
I wasn't aware that they came in that color.

So, other than welcoming you to the forum, I guess I wasn't much
help. Oh well, somebody will answer you I'm sure.

They don't come in that colour apparantly... my dealer must have made a mistake! Will have to change that to a pearl red!

i just got a jp6 that comes stock with 10's ... ive been playing 9s for a while now and it did take a bit of getting used to. nothing crazy, but it definately took me a few hours to adjust to the 10s.

ya i did ... it definately was a "new" world for a lil while but it really didnt take too long to get used to it. i just got a new guitar and put 10's on it too. so now i flip between 9's and 10's quite a bit.

im a bassist that plays guitar so im used to swapping from guitar to bass which is a lot different than 9s to 10s (but i guess i mentally know im playing a bass now and am prepared)

quick question... the 9 High E string became quite a lot harder to bend after bexcoming a 10.... will the High B string be proportially harder to bend than the E or easier?
