so I'm learning up a 21 song set for a Rod Stewart tibute act that i'm subbing in on and I gotta stress that if you haven't had a chance ot learn up or listen to Phil's work on Maggie Mae or Hot Legs..... DO IT NOW!!!!

+1 on Phil Chen! I love his work on Jeff Beck's Blow by Blow. Pete, enjoy your tribute gig.
The "Young Turks" (Rod Stewart / Jeff Beck tribute band, out of Chi town) played a full set at our home town "Beef Days" fest last summer. The bassist was no Phil Chen, but he did a great job.......especially when he and the JB look-alike broke into "Freeway Jam"

I have been a huge fan of Phil's work since before I knew who he was. I was fortunate enough to speak with him on the phone once and let me say he is as gracious a person as he is accomplished on bass. A real pleasure and great fun lines too!
