Question Phil Jones Amp with Bongo 5?

I have a new Bongo 5 HH. I want a new amp to go with it. Has anyone had experience with a Phil Jones Micro 7? They seem to be highly regarded, but I wonder about having only a 7-inch speaker.

What attracts me to his bass is that they advertise that they are decent to play regular music through. I play a lot with backing tracks, and it would be helpful for those to come through sounding good.

I also like the fact that it is relatively obscure. I don't want to show up everywhere with a Fender like everyone else. (One of the reasons I play MM guitars in the first place...)

Also, it is small.

So, would this be a good choice?

Most bass amps are good for "regular music".
They are also deployed for keyboards and for
jazz guitar. IOW, bass amps do not actually
"make bass". Bass amps are rather neutral ....
unlike electric guitar amps which usually do
"make electric guitar" [affected tone].

For what it is worth, I own a Phil Jones C4 cabinet and use it with upright bass. It sounds terrific at low to medium volume and I use it with either an Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 or a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.2.

Sounds like a good choice. As Golem mentioned, bass amplifiers are pretty much PA systems, somewhat customized for the bass range.
