Wow, thanks for all the responses!!

I do like the options the piezo has. The reason I as about "mixing" the piezo and electric outputs is for clean playing, it would be nice to mix in a touch of the 2 or 4 electric positions with the acoustic sound.

As far as P-90s, I'm already sold on their versatiliy. Great cleans when rolled back, and nice sizzle when distorted.

I'd really like to buy a USA made guitar, and from what I'm hearing, the customer service of EBMM sounds good.

I'd like to try one out. Anybody know if their is a stocking distributor in or around the Minneapolis / St. Paul area? I know Dave's Guitar in LaCrosse, WI is a distributor, but they don't stock any AL's.

Thanks again for all the help, folks!

Is that the one on the January Knuckleheads Calendar with 2 pickups?
When I talked to him a long time ago, he was having a b bender installed.

Oh I shouldn't be talking to you!! meagre attempt at P shop huh !!!! :p :D

I think Smellybum deserves the Photo Shop Award for that AL he designed the other week!!!

I remember someone linked me to an older post where the guy removed the middle MM90 and is looked great.

Ha ha, I think I was more shocked that the owner of such a tasty looking AL was actually thinking about ruining it !!!

We probably have to give Smelly a pass on his p-shop skills, after all he is naked all the time

I live in Saint Paul. I've got an AL with single coils. And I'm 15 minutes away from just about every music store in town, depending on what type of amp you want to play through. Let me know. You won't find an AL in a music store here in the Twin Cities.

EDIT: I don't have piezo or trem though, sorry.

Hey Norrin, thanks for the offer. I'll let you know.

I'm waiting on a price quote from Dave's. Gotta see what price range this will fall in.

Incidentally, here's a nice photo from a different thread. I presume this on is a Pacific Blueburst. (or just Blue). Quite the knckout, in any case

Jim you do know the quilt top is not available on these just yet?

I guess I hadn't really even considered a figured top. I was primarily referring to the color.

If there are going to be figured tops, I'd certainly consider waiting to get one. A nice mild flame top would be great!

So, two additional questions.

2) Are they going to offer figured tops? Are they Maple caps? Any timeframe as to when they might do this?

So, two additional questions.

1) Is $xxxx-$xxxx a reasonable price for a new AL order from the factory with
-Piezo
-No Trem
-3 MM90
-White Pearloid
-Matching headstock
-Blueburst color.

2) Are they going to offer figured tops? Are they Maple caps? Any timeframe as to when they might do this?

We don't really discuss street prices for the AL here. That's a dealer-protection policy of EBMM's.

Figured tops are coming. They will appear at the summer NAMM show. If I'm not mistaken, the body will be alder, there will be a mahogany tone block, and the top will be maple. The one you posted is Albert Lee's, which you probably know. There is also a black burst with MM90s that was shown at the EBMM Dallas Bash last November. There are none for public consumption yet, though. So, you might be able to get one in your hands late this year or early next year.

Sorry bout the price question, fixed it on my post. I wanted to make sure I was in the right ballpark on my guess. I'll probably order with the ash body. I'm really liking the piezo option. While I'm not a big acoustic player, I really like that it could be done on one guitar. I like the balance of an electric vs. acoustic, and I think if I got a seperate acoustic, I wouldn't take the extra care it would need (i.e. tight humidity control, etc).

I'll probably order it next week. I'll be sure to post pics and comments when it comes in.

Thanks again for all the help on answering questions everyone!

WHAT!?!?!? Can you get the LE with a RW neck?!??!??! Is this true????????

Not unless it's a 2006LE as far as I understand it!

i thought the LE 2007 was available on an AL with rosewood board.......

edit- i could be VERY VERY wrong though!!!!!!!!

WHAT?!?!?!?! I need some confirmation - that could change a lot of things! Holy moly!

I asked BP about this issue in Dallas a few hours after they announced that Blue Dawn was going to be the 2007LE color. At that point, they did not know if the AL was going to be offered with rosewood for 2007LE. You might want to ask the question. I was originally thinking of getting an AL in 2007LE trim this year, but BP sort of suggested something else without such a big pickguard.

Well, as the taxes are shaping up, it is looking less and less like an AL will be possible in the near future.

:(

Looks like the wait will continue. Thanks again for answering all the questions, everybody!
