Well here is the new toy in my box. I put new hybrid slinkys on my HH to do a fairly close A/B with this baby strung with factory installed super slinkys of course.
Here is my take on the long awaited "secret weapon".
1) More clarity than the HH (as one might expect from single PU).
2) Seemed to have signifiacantly more growl as well (some of this may be due to
possible slight differences in relief) I dunno for sure but for whatever
reasons there was definitely more growl in my ears.
3) More punch, and overall output with slightly lesser strings (was no contest).

Took this thing to rehearsal Tuesday and in the words of John Lee Hooker
" BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM" ;)

I still like the HH for it's own merits but it has been temporarily wimpering in the corner the last couple of days. It could be doing so for some time now

A good looker and it has a great feel about it and lightweight too. All I have is a bathroom scale but I think she is a little under 9 pounds. Funny with other objects you never notice but I think bass (ok, and maybe guitar players too) have a knack for distinguishing one axe weighing just a half a pound more or less than another rather easily. I knew immediately pulling out of the case it was lighter than my other Bongo. Those with a bad back know how good that can be :).

Not in your ears... the pup is in a different position than the HH bridge and it really plays with the tone. Single H Bongos are such great basses :D

Now there is a T-Shirt to be worn with pride.

It would have outsiders (non forumites et.al) scratching their heads, but for those in the know it would be just hehehehe amongst us. :)
Then we would have to explain the mojo to the lost ones in an effort for worldwide conversion. No, maybe better not. I don't want to lose my edge :D

No way, brother. I've been preaching the single H for a long time, too! And that Blue Dawn is to kill for.

I love my basses, of course, and value a few of them more than I could ever explain, but I love all the basses you guys get, too.

I picked up my Bongo 5H, cause Jack told me to
Very happy with it. In fact, some nights it talks to me... not sure if the 6 martinis contribute to that or not :D
