Headstock

I am debating the whole matching headstock thing here... I love the look of the matching head stocks aesthetically. Only Ball I got that is non-matching is my AL.

Those of you that love the non-matching seem to be quite infatuated with that - why is that ?
Do you feel it alters the tone or is it just a visual preference?

I like the natural headstocks probably because it's what I'm use to seeing for so many years. The other thing is that the EBMMs are a compact guitar. The matching headstock usually makes the guitar look even smaller. Especially with darker colours.
I believe EBMM were one the first (if not the first) to offer matching stocks.
I do think it looks way better than competitors guitar with matching.
I do however think the Axis looks best matching. This is probably because it's a unique looking guitar, and is quite modern compared to the competition. There's also no psychological programming happening here.
