My BD started life as a white pearl. Abalone had just been introduced and I actually had that pickguard before the guitar arrived.
LE's in the past have had the guards choosen for them.
What color guard would you like on your BD?
Is Clear an option?

How about a blue dawn pickguard? Just the metal-flake blue

I tend to agree with the others... no pickguards looks kinda funny...
It's just not EBMM, it's a trademark kind of thing.

How can you be so sure of no pick guard not being an option? Just curious.

That was the ramblings of a man who had just gotten home from Dallas. Perhaps I was a bit "too sure" last night. I base it on nothing except that it hasn't happened before. But, as I should know about anything conceived of by the Ball Family, anything is possible. :D

I still wouldn't count on it, though. "No pickguard" isn't an option on Stingray 5s, and I can't imagine they'd have different specs for different instruments in a limited edition. The same goes for "clear."

No pickguard wont happen...clear wont either as the routing on too many of the models
would have to be reprogrammed and it is not cost effiecient to redesign the intire line to accomodate a one year ltd color.

I was right! Look at me with my big brain! Which, coincidentally is still pounding from the amount of alcohol I drank this weekend.

Well, there is our answer. I will probably go with pearl white then and explore aftermarket clears.

BP do you know when you will start taking orders?
