I tossed this out in a previously unrelated thread and didn't get anything. I was thinking of taking off the white ice pg on the green Bonger and replacing it with a black ice one... opinions????

I'm kind of partial to the white PG's.

But that's just me...

Personally, I don't think I'd like the looks of a black pickguard on the lime green Bongo. If I were looking for something different, I'd go with either abalone, or perhaps Tort (perhaps not).

I thought about both of those... they wouldn't go with the green (and it is an odd shade of green)... now if they did the washed copper pg, like I've seen on some of the Rays, that might be an option.

You're right! That copper would look awesome on the green. You should check with Bryan Boots and see if he can make that happen.

You know what would look really cool? Anodized gold. Why not contact Bryan Boots and see if he can make you one like that?

Heck, a mirror'd pickguard would look pretty neat, too....

You've got a custom colored Bongo so why not go with a custom pickguard, too? No sense limiting yourself to the ones sold by EB, right?

This one from Pickguard heaven might be pretty cool.

I think tort shell would look really good, but I have to agree with midopa the rainbow shell would really set the bass off. It is unique and would go perfectly with the lime green theme. That color is one of a kind so a normal run of the mill pickguard would not do it justice.

Well, EB/MM has ordered me a black ice pg (I think it would go well with the black control knobs) and I am in talks with Boots about other pg material, to find something a bit more... "unusual." When everything arrives I will slap up some new picts (probably a couple of weeks as the BI pg is backordered and I haven't picked out the other yet - hey, maybe I'll just get one pg for each day of the week... better yet, maybe a Bongo for each day of the week... nah, the wife would kill me - I'll just have to stick to collecting silica packs :p)
