OLP BENJI SIGNATURE GUITAR W/ DROP SONIC - eBay (item 130317889689 end time Jul-17-09 08:43:02 PDT)

Whee! The guitar got here today and it looks like it's gonna be a keeper! I put it through it's paces with my POD on my lunch hour and it plays great, is perfectly intonated, sounds really good, looks cool, and stays in tune. Definitely not as refined as the EBMM version but for a $175 purchase this turned out pretty darn good!

I have some other pickups from Duncan I'm gonna test in the guitar and I'm gonna change the strings... there's EB 12-56s on there now and I've got the guitar in Eb... I prefer 10-52s. I'm digging the bridge on it as well!

i bought this to replace a failed Strat project (assembled a Strat from parts and it turned out to be a dud) and I've only played this guitar for an hour and I can tell it's better than the Strat could ever have been. Ahhh.... few things are more satisfying than a cheap guitar that performs great. I might make space for another pickup in the neck... who knows. I'm stoked!

I am glad you liked it. Did not not know you were a fellow knucklehead?

So it stayed "in the family", I see. I had a twin to that....although all stock and it was one of the good ones as well. I sold it to an office mate who is in the next cube to me.

Oh? My primary haunt is the Duncan board. Are you on there too?

Cool!

I opened up the electronics cavity last night and as it turns out the guy replaced the pots with 500K cts pots and added a hi-pass filter onto the volume knob. Too cool! There's also space for meck and middle pickups as well... future expansion ftw!
