I updated two or three basses over the last week or so and wanted to show them off a little bit.

First up, the oldest Bongo I have, the Sapphire Black 5 HH which began its life with a black ice, I think, and then got a tort thanks to bassmonkeee...finally, SmallEQ supplied me with a clear guard, which led to this.

This was just some art print that I found in a "New Art International" mag that I've had for seven or eight years. I like the final product.

Then, the always popular Big Poppa Bongo, which also had an Ice guard then an abalone guard then something else which escapes me now, but here it is now with the ex-SmallEQ "Ringo" guard, which I actually got from bdgotoh (thanks, Brad!):

I think that's its best look yet. BP? You think?

Then I had a clear guard for a single H 5 Bongo and hadn't really done much with it, but....those of you who are offended by nudity in art, click off here.

This collage had been taking shape for months but I didn't know at the time that it was going to be a Bongo pickguard. Then it came to me. Yeah!

I like it:

I can't wait to get them all out in public, especially that red Bongo.

What say you, fanboys?

Yeah, BP Bongo with the zebra/tiger/watchamacallit stripey jobbie...

I think its the "flat" colors of the pg contrasting with the pearl that's causing my visual malady.

I dunno, Jack. None of 'em are exactly blowing my skirts up. Well, maybe the red one. The colors work well together.

I will, however, defend your freedom to put whatever pickguard on there that you want to. I'll just stick with Moonstone.

I think the BP Bongo looks perfect with that guard Jack - you're very welcome.

I bet it looks even better in person with all the iridescence and depth that guard has.

I guess the nicest thing I can say is that if I ever give jack another bass i will super glue the pickguard to the body. Hideous. If Picasso gave you a painting of a lady would you paint your own cindy crawford mole starter kit on it?

*Note to Jack*

Do not EVER even THINK of putting a pg on the Flaming Biff Bongo... Ever... No matter how many martinis have gone down...

(I thought it best not to file this under "He knows better" - can't take that chance!) :p
